MapBasic Programming
Our first MapInfo application (an
environmental database) was
extremely well suited to the MapInfo querying capabilities.
However, typing all the well names into the where field of
SQL-select was unreasonably tedious when the single selector and
marquee selector tools are available for easy well picking. In
order to include this functionality in our system, we began
programming in MapBasic in late 1995.
It wasn't long before we were
creating queries, data input forms and point creation routines;
all in MapInfo. We've even developed several routines to assist
in engineering constructions (see FreeWare). Drop us an
e-mail and we'll send you a copy if you'd like to try them. We
have also performed hydraulic and plume decay modeling with
MapBasic, including a seamless interface with Excel for data
plotting. Recently we prepared a complete data input, QA/QC
testing, data archiving, statistical evaluation, and results
plotting routine for one of our solid waste disposal clients. The
routine was written in MapBasic and runs entirely inside MapInfo.
As a result of this needs-based
training, we are confident that we can develop customized
routines for nearly all applications. Please call, write or
e-mail
to discuss your specific needs.
